On April 24, as part of a program supported by the Dutch government, a delegation from various cybersecurity companies visited the IT security location Karlsruhe to learn more about the German cybersecurity research landscape and its work.
First, the group of visitors met the KIT start-up incubator StartUpSecure KASTEL, where they were able to exchange ideas with start-ups in the IT security sector.
This was followed by a visit to the KASTEL Security Research Labs (SRL). Here, Prof. Jörn Müller-Quade explained the interdisciplinary and application-oriented research at KASTEL SRL to the interested visitors, followed by an opportunity to discuss the current state of research and its impact in real-life applications. The visitors were particularly interested in the possibilities for quantifying security risks and the legal aspects of IT security research.
