The topic of quantum computing is gaining increasing importance in society. Questions such as “What advantages do quantum computers offer, and what risks do they entail?” are moving ever more into the focus of public discussion.
As part of the Dr. Manfred Fuchs Colloquium on January 30 at the TECHNOSEUM in Mannheim, Prof. Thomas Gabor (LMU Munich) and Prof. Jörn Müller-Quade (KASTEL Security Research Labs) dedicated their talks to this highly topical field.
Prof. Gabor provided a comprehensive overview of current developments and the technological capabilities of quantum computers. Prof. Müller-Quade then examined the risks and security-related challenges from a cryptological perspective.
In the concluding Q&A session, the audience took the opportunity to discuss various aspects of quantum technology with the experts.
