Project DIRECTIONS (Data Protection Certification for Educational Information Systems)
KIT researchers present a catalog of criteria for data protection-compliant school information systems
“Lernende Systeme” Germany's platform for artificial intelligence aims to shape the growing importance of learning systems for the benefit of society and business.
In October, the platform published a white paper on the exciting topic of how data can be used for AI and simultaneously can be protected with AI. Prof. Jörn Müller-Quade of KASTEL Security Research Labs and co-chair of the IT Security, Privacy, Law and Ethics working group of “Lernende Systeme” stated, “The use and development of AI need legal certainty. Instead of prohibitions, the legislator should provide scope for activity and legally permit technical methods for the protection of data privacy. In this way, the current interpretation gaps in the processing of personal data can be closed and we can better exploit the opportunities offered by the key technology AI for our society.” Click here for the white paper (German).
